About Evanston Current

Who We Are

Evanston Current is an independent local news and information site covering Cook County, Illinois, with local editions for Chicago and communities across the county. Our aim is simple: one place to catch up on what is happening locally, from news and business to politics and sport.

What We Publish

News headlines. We gather the latest headlines from established news organizations through Google News. Each item shows the headline and a credit to its publisher, and links straight to the original story on the publisher's own site. We never republish article bodies.

Announcements. Businesses and organizations can publish press releases and announcements with us. These are press releases, clearly labelled "Press Release", and appear as supplied by the issuing organization.

Editorial Policy

Headlines are selected by topic and location so that each edition stays focused on its own community. We do not rewrite or alter headlines, and press releases have no influence on which news headlines appear. All headlines, trademarks and linked articles remain the property of their respective publishers.

Corrections

If a headline or link on this site is wrong or out of date, contact us and we will correct it. Email newsroom@cookcountycurrent.com.
